Dr Rachael Carpenter
Dr. Rachael Carpenter attended Carson-Newman College and The University of Tennessee Knoxville where she completed her Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Biology. In 2012, Dr. Carpenter earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Carpenter’s enthusiasm and love for veterinary medicine arose at an early age. Her father is a veterinarian and she has been an intricate part of his practice throughout her life. As a child, she followed him around the clinic, “helped” him with surgery, and would even wake up during the night to see emergencies. The motivation to become a veterinarian was evident; improving the quality of life, for both animals and their owners through medicine, provided the greatest payoff of personal satisfaction she could ever receive. This realization has motivated and inspired her to strive for excellence and to pursue this fulfilling career.
Dr. Carpenter is married to Dave, a Wildlife Sergeant for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Together, they have three precious children, Charleigh (8), Ava Claire (5) and Luke (2). She is also a pet parent to a black Labrador Retriever, Jake, a Miniature Australian Shepherd, Pearl, and several chickens. The Carpenter family loves exploring the outdoors, watching Tennessee Football, reading, cooking and spending time together. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Blountville.
Dr. Carpenter finds great fulfillment in helping people make positive and informed choices regarding the health of their pet. It is her priority to always give her best to her clients and their furry family members.
